So here’s what’s new. I feel that a lot of technology companies and startups are really misguided in terms of the things that they are trying to do. For instance, you can be sure that facebook, twitter, google, amazon, netflix and practically every other company out there that has put in a solid amount of investment into their platforms and technologies, and made a killing as a result of it, has done so with the goal of creating demand among consumers for things that are fairly superficial and / or frivolous and / or depraved. Ex – stimulate demand for photos, videos, movies, music. However, if these same companies and the individuals who built them had used their outstanding brains and other resources to create technologies that were more useful to the human race – ex – nanotechnology, zero-carbon-energy research, cheap generic drugs, genomics, etc. , then, chances are that we would see REAL fundamental progress by human beings as a species. But the unfortunate fact is that they didn’t and probably never will and therefore we are left with only Bill Gates trying to cure malaria and create safe nuclear energy whereas the rest of the smartest and brightest people on the planet are busy re-tweeting stuff that has been re-tweeted many million times over and some “cloud” hosting companies that are trying to cover up the fact that they got hacked by 14-year olds from malaysia and so on and so forth. So the point i am trying to drive at is this – if we want to really dream about big ideas, we need to dream about how things should be, not how fubar things really are because human beings have become super-jaded because of the fact that random companies have decided how the world is going to be because it suits them and that is the only way that they can control everything and treat us mere mortals as sources of infra-red radiation to power their giant automatons. Basically, what I would like us to think about is to think really big and try to imagine something that is bigger than ourselves. So, as a thought experiment, if we could try to imagine how things really should be, then, i think it will become clear that we can come up with a.paradigm for the world, the way it should be and not the way it is. Fubar as it is. So i am going to propose a new construct for the world as a whole which I think will create conditions for us human beings to realize how totally flawed we all are. I shall call this set of ideas “The Paradigm Construct” and I shall file each new idea under there and hopefully these ideas can inspire all of us to think beyond the stuff that has already been done and the stuff that is being done that does not seem to represent the quantum leap forward in thinking that the world desperately needs now more than ever before. And that’s all I have to say about that. For now…
